Responding to a sense of an accelerating pace of urban life, mindfulness and social consciousness have become popular topics in recent years. What does it mean to be socially conscious or mindful, from a personal or societal perspective, in today’s context? Is it primarily a state of mind – or worse, a buzzword – or does it manifest itself in actions that matter? Join us as our panellists share what social consciousness means to them and how they translate it into action.

Ho Han Peng - Moderator

Han is Assistant Director at the Lien Centre for Social Innovation at Singapore Management University. He develops and manages research and capacity-building projects in Singapore and the region as part of the Centre’s mission to foster a more vibrant, just and inclusive society through innovative multi-sector collaborations.

Ishan Singh - Panellist

Ishan is a third-year undergraduate at the Singapore Management University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business, and an Editorial Assistant at Social Space Magazine. He spends any spare time he has rapping or producing music, and hopes to pursue a career in music. Passionate about the arts and writing, Ishan hopes to write articles and make videos that drive greater social consciousness.
