Through our purchases, consumers play a big role in advocating for more sustainable practices in the fashion industry. The good news is that there’s plenty of creative ways you can participate, no matter your budget or income level. In this talk, you’ll hear from industry experts about the scale of fashion’s impact on people and the planet and take away actionable steps on how you could participate in fashion more sustainably, from swapping or renting to supporting ethical brands.

SUSANNAH JAFFER - MODERATOR

Susannah Jaffer is the founder of ZERRIN (zerrin.com), a Singapore-based company driving awareness of sustainable fashion & beauty. A media hub, curated marketplace and directory working with a growing community of emerging brands, the platform is fast becoming Asia's leading gateway for ethical consumerism. A former magazine editor, in 2016 Susannah woke up to the colossal impact of the retail industry on people and the planet and knew she wanted to create change. After learning to heal her toxic relationship with her wardrobe and discovering the sustainable alternatives out there, she set out to build a company that would empower others to embark on the same journey.

ANISA JOHNNY - SPEAKER

Anisa Johnny is a senior lecturer in Marketing and Fashion Management at Raffles College of Higher Education Singapore. She is also the co-founder of social enterprise Boheme Style Nomads, has made it her goal to give back through teaching and clue up the next generation about sustainability 

BRANDY DALLAS - SPEAKER

Brandy Dallas is the founder of SANS FAFF,  a minimalist womenswear label focused on producing limited pieces at limited quantities - to preserve resources and avoid waste. By shifting the focus from temporary trends to enduring essentials, Sans Faff encourage buying more responsibly and wearing more consciously.

CHARLOTTE MEI - SPEAKER

Charlotte Mei is a host, presenter, nutritionist, chef and sustainability & wellness advocate. She uses her influence for good by adopting and inspiring others to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. Her perspective on being fashionably sustainable without compromising her style motivating!

PRIYANKA SHAHRA - SPEAKER

Priyanka Shahra is the founder of Swapaholic, a pioneer omni channel fashion swapping platform, which was born to create a sustainable alternate for fashion lovers like herself to be able express their personal style without compromising our planet. Priyanka's passions lie in building sustainable urban solutions with the capacity to make it convenient for consumers to swap their mindsets and habits toward a more sustainable planet. Thus, Swapaholic's proprietary systems, operations and technology are focussed on making swapping accessible, affordable and scalable.
