Climate Countdown is a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action. This session explores how to build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world – a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone.

TEDxSingapore invites everyone here – #JoinTheCountdown to a safer, cleaner, fairer future. We invite collaboration from every organization, company, city and nation and from citizens everywhere. It is a movement open to everyone – and everyone has a vital role to play.

VIVIAN LIM - MODERATOR

Vivian is a community builder and TEDx curator. She is the co-founder of Women In Asia, an online community which helps to amplify perspectives from Asia, and help bridge cultural and gender differences. She brings diverse people together, share conversations and build authentic connections.

MEI LIN NEO - PANELLIST

Mei Lin is a marine ecologist and science communicator! She has earned the nickname, Giant Clam Girl, because she studied a massive shellfish that grew  1-m long! Passionate about the natural world since childhood, she is an vid champion for marine conservation, education & outreach. She writes about, marine conservation issues, science communication, and of course – the Giant Clam!

SAMANTHA THIAN - PANELLIST

Samantha Thian, or Sam, is the founder of Seastainable, a homegrown startup that’s helping us to fight plastic waste, one metal straw at a time. A business graduate from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Sam is currently working full-time in Human Resources in the manufacturing (FCMG) industry and runs Seastainable as a side business.
